Biography

Jens Masuch was born in Rostock, Germany, in 1978. He received the B.S. degree with high honors in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (Milwaukee, USA) and the Dipl.-Ing.(FH) from the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences (Lübeck, Germany) in 2002. In 2004 he graduated at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences (Mannheim, Germany) with the M.S. degree in information technology. Currently he is working towards the Ph.D. degree at the Institute of Microelectronics of Seville (Seville, Spain) under supervision of Dr. Manuel Delgado-Restituto.

From 2004 to 2008 he was with Atmel Germany GmbH (Heilbronn, Germany) working on several analog and mixed-signal building blocks for UHF and HF RFID transponder ICs. In 2011 he visited the Eindhoven University of Technology (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) in a 4-month research stay under supervision of Professor Peter Baltus.

His research interests are low power wireless transceivers for body area networks and RF energy harvesting.
